Jo Fothergill is a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellow at the Institute of Infection and Global Health, University of Liverpool, where she is working on a project to elucidate the interactions between bacteria during chronic biofilm-related infections. She has a particular interest in respiratory infections, the development of antimicrobial resistance in Gram negative bacteria and therapeutics to counteract this. She was awarded her PhD in Medical Microbiology from the University of Liverpool in 2009.
