Klaus Rajewsky, MD, shares 2026 Max Cooper Prize in Immunology

Congratulations to VVP Klaus Rajewsky, MD, for being named one of this year's winners of the Max Cooper Prize in Immunology.  The honor recognizes the awardees -- Dr Rajewski shares the prize with Thomas Boehm (MPI Freiburg) and Tadatsugu Taniguchi (Tokyo) -- for their transforamative and revolutionary achievements in the field of immunology.

Klaus Rajewsky, MD, is group leader with Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in Berlin, Germany. He is recognized for shaping the field of molecular immunology by developing gene-targeting tools, giving immunologists the ability to precisely dissect gene function in specific cell types.

“What a unique privilege and honor to receive this prize, named after Max Cooper, an admired scientist and old friend,” says Rajewsky. “And it is a privilege to receive it together with esteemed fellow scientists, who have all done ground-breaking work in immunology, our beloved common research area.”
