The Foundation collects names, addresses, and email addresses for the purpose of communicating with those participating in the Foundation’s programs and from supporters and friends of the Foundation. This information may be used by the Foundation to send bulletins, announcements, and other communications. The Foundation collects information such as contact information, affiliation, travel information, frequent flier numbers, passport numbers and preferences from attendees at Foundation symposia, which is used to make travel arrangements and is shared with airlines, hotels, vendors and other third parties only as needed to organize the symposia.

The Foundation collects additional information from Vallee Scholar candidates, Vallee Visiting Professor nominees and presenters at conferences, including academic degrees, current position, nationality, gender, and a CV. This information is shared with the selection committee for the relevant position and the Board of Directors.

The Foundation collects social security numbers only from persons to whom the Foundation makes payments (such as vendors and employees). If payment is to be sent by wire transfer, the Foundation also collects bank account information.

The Foundation will never sell, license or exchange personal information without your consent. The Foundation shares such information with third parties only (i) if asked to provide in legal or law enforcement proceedings; or (ii) to third party service providers with a need to know the information who agree not to disclose any information to which they have access.

The Foundation does not purposefully or knowingly collect personal information (as defined in COPPA, 15 U.S.C. § 6501) from children. If you are a parent or guardian of a child under 13 years of age, and believe that he or she disclosed information to us, please contact us. If we learn that we have collected or received personal information of persons who are under 13 years of age without verification of parental consent, we will exercise commercially reasonable efforts to delete this information.
